The essence of our original objectives still applies; we want to provide resources and opportunities for our young tradespeople to create successful careers and become future leaders.
But the industry has changed since the Foundation’s inception. With the continuing development of NECA’s RTOs, and government support available for some of the training that we used to provide scholarships for, the need for us to offer courses directly – and the demand for scholarships – has changed.
So we are looking into new ways to fulfil our original purpose – providing opportunities for development that don’t otherwise exist for the next generation of industry leaders.
That still includes resources created by our generous current and past Board members (as seen on the Resources page). If you have ideas for other resources there is a form for suggestions at the bottom of the resources page.
We also still offer Scholarships and we are reevaluating which courses we offer and those we will support the RTOs to offer on our behalf.
But we are also looking for new, 21st-century, ways to fulfil our vision. To that end, we are currently developing a new tool that we hope will help our tradespeople to navigate their way from apprentice to industry leaders with clarity and confidence. We are hoping to launch this completed project later this year – so watch this space!
