NECA Foundation Scholarships were first launched in 2014, to assist electrical trade professionals to undertake post-trade training that was not otherwise available to them.

In 2026, while we still want to support individual career development, we have expanded our aims, to better suit the current industry landscape.

Small to medium electrical contracting businesses (approximately 5-50 employees) are the backbone of our industry – but they sometimes struggle to find the resources to support their employees’ development as much as they would like to.

Accordingly, we are focusing our scholarship support on employees in these businesses, who wish to advance their career with their current employer.

Do you qualify for our assistance?

NECA Foundation Scholarships are designed to assist  qualified electricians, who are working in a small to medium electrical contracting business (5-50 employees), and who:

  • Wish to increase their skills and knowledge
  • Have a positive attitude and application in the workplace and off-the-job training
  • Want to progress their career with their current employer – for example, by taking on a leadership role, or specialisation – and have the support of their employer to do that
  • Have found a course that will help them to do those things, but which isn’t supported by industry bodies, or a government grant
