Application Requirements

Mandatory section

  • Provide evidence of completion of Certificate III Electro Technology
  • Provide a copy of your resume
  • Provide a least two references, including one from a current or previous employer.

Desirable

  • Evidence of post-trade training, e.g., Certificate IV, Diploma in Electrotechnology, or specialist courses, such as Telecommunications or PLCs
  • Evidence of the number of years of post-trade experience.

Motivation and Suitability

Candidates for scholarships are required to provide a 500 word (or less) essay on one of the topics set out below:

  • Describe what you believe the challenges are for a successful electrical contracting business and how you will help address them once you’re in a leadership position, OR
  • Discuss the emerging technological trends in electrical contracting and what businesses should do to ensure their future success, OR
  • Describe how you believe attending this course will assist you in your career in electrical contracting

Other Criteria

Eligibility for a scholarship will be based on academic performance and commitment to the trade. Where candidates are considered equal, the Foundation will consider other criteria outlined in your application under this section.

Things to consider include, but are not limited to:

  • Financial hardship
  • Cultural hardship
  • Geographical hardship
  • Physical disability
  • Other

Submission of Application

All applications need to be completed by the end of September each year.

Applications will be considered during the December Board Meeting and notification will be provided to all applicants in late December.
